David Henson Ereno

David Henson Ereno was born on Nov. 25, 2006 with biliary atresia, a rare disease that means his liver does not have bile ducts. As a result, the bile ducts of the 1-year-old baby has built up within and are destroying his liver.

Ereno’s mother, Jennifer Alimagno, said her son needs a liver transplant in order to survive.

There is no pediatric liver transplant here in the Philippines, but the operation can either be done at the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, or at Glenn Eagles Hospital in Singapore and the Queen Mary Hospital in Hong Kong, she said in her letter to the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

“We cannot afford it, that’s why we appeal to you for charity and compassion. Please help us raise money for his liver transplant,” said Alimagno and her partner who live on Hobart Gracia Street, Barangay Kaligayahan, Novaliches, Quezon City.

The couple said David has been undergoing a series of checkups at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center on Quezon Avenue, Quezon City. The last time he was admitted in the hospital was on May 29 where he stayed until June 4.

The latest findings, according to the couple, was that David needs immediate medical attention.

For those who want to help in David’s hospitalization expenses, the contact numbers of Jennifer and Henry are 467-4970 and 0920-8736719. Deposits can be made at Jennifer’s bank account number 1053-2042-76 (RCBC) and Henry Ereno’s bank account number 0707-8106-29 (LandBank of the Philippines).

Aww.. poor David. If I'm a powerful person, I'd send money for this poor kid.
