Ramesh "Sunny" Balwani, Theranos' former chief operating officer, has been found guilty of all charges in his criminal trial. Balwani, whose trial began last March, was charged with ten counts of wire fraud and two counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

He could face up to 20 years in prison for defrauding investors and Theranos patients. His sentencing is currently set for November 15th.

The verdict comes nearly six months after Elizabeth Holmes was found guilty of defrauding Theranos investors. She also faces up to 20 years in prison; her sentencing is scheduled for September 26th. During her trial, Holmes testified that Balwani had been controlling and abusive during their relationship. Balwani’s attorneys denied the allegations.

The case against Balwani was similar to the one against Holmes. Like Holmes, Balwani was charged with defrauding Theranos investors as well as patients. Holmes was found guilty on just four of the 11 fraud charges she faced, all of which related to Theranos investors. She was acquitted on charges of defrauding patients.

Unlike Holmes, Balwani did not take the stand during his three-month trial. His lawyers argued that "he did not control Theranos" and that Holmes was ultimately in charge of running the company. Prosecutors maintained he worked hand-in-hand with Holmes to mislead investors, and that he was the executive responsible for erroneous financial projections claiming the startup would bring in US$ 1 billion in revenue by 2015.

Balwani's trial didn’t attract the same level of media attention as Holmes', but his relationship with Holmes played a major role in the widespread fascination surrounding Theranos. Balwani joined Theranos as COO in 2009 and oversaw much of the day-to-day operations of the company's lab. The two executives hid their longtime romantic relationship from other Theranos employees, as well as the company's investors and board members.

The scandalous crime spree of Buster Hernandez has been busted by the authorities and the law just sentenced him to 75 years in federal prison. Better known by his online alias of "BrianKil," Hernandez spent years harassing and terrorizing hundreds of girls, some as young as 12-years-old.

He would extort them for nude pictures and videos, threatening to rape and kill them if they didn't comply with his demands. In all, he eventually had to answer for 41 separate allegations, including charges related to the distribution of child pornography. The world is a less ugly place with Hernandez behind bars, but the story of how the FBI was eventually able to track him down also raises some hard ethical questions.

Hernandez used a combination of Tor and Tails, a privacy-focused operating system, to hide his identity and location. Initially, those measures stymied the FBI until the agency sent Hernandez a booby-trapped video that took advantage of a vulnerability in Tails' video player to relay his real IP address.

Last June, Motherboard found that Facebook had paid a cybersecurity firm to develop the exploit and that it had handed it over to the FBI through an intermediary. It's not clear if the agency knew the source of the exploit until after Motherboard published its report. For its part, Facebook claims that was the only time in its history that it had helped law enforcement hack one of its users.

"The only acceptable outcome to us was Buster Hernandez facing accountability for his abuse of young girls," the company said at the time. "This was a unique case, because he was using such sophisticated methods to hide his identity, that we took the extraordinary steps of working with security experts to help the FBI bring him to justice."

The problem is that Tails is used by a lot of different people, including activists, journalists and government officials. As of last year, no one involved in developing and using the exploit had disclosed the vulnerability that had enabled it to the Tails development team. There's no evidence the FBI has used it against anyone else, but the door for abuse is open.

A hacker just revealed the tremendous amount of effort they have put in to penetrate the security flaw in Apple’s iCloud. He added that they were responsible for uncovering several sexy photos of more than 100 celebrities including Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton.

It's unlikely that someone has broken into Apple's iCloud service. Instead the photos most probably emerged after exposed to a type of hacking known as "social engineering."

The hack job exploit works by learning which online services the target uses, and then compiling as much data on them as possible before using that data to either spoof access, or to simply use their email address and a guessed password to log in to their account.

Daily Mail's James Nye found the alleged hacker's comment on an anonIB thread early on 1 September 2014. In the comment, the hacker thanked the community for its support and added that they were on the run. He also disclosed that they will be moving to a new location where they would continue to post about the hacked photos and videos.

The Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) has launched an investigation into the hacking and Apple has patched up a security flaw in iCloud that could have enabled the hacker(s) to access the celebrities' private photos. Apple has not officially commented on how the security breach happened but says it is "actively investigating" the situation and that it takes its users' privacy "very seriously."

Most of the celebrities whose compromising photos were already posted online are not really technically capable of protecting their online accounts. For instance, Jennifer Lawrence is known to use iCloud after she let slip in a red carpet interview with MTV this year that she frequently has trouble with the service, remarking "My iCloud keeps telling me to back it up, and I'm like, I don't know how to back you up. Do it yourself."

Security experts revealed that once the hacker discovers the iCloud account of a celebrity, it's trivially easy to access their online photo backup through Apple's Photo Stream utility and iCloud photo backups.

Analysis of the embedded EXIF data (information about where and how the picture was taken that is frequently appended to digital photo images) included in one of the leaked images shows it was taken a few weeks ago, well within Photo Stream's limit of 30 days before images are deleted. However, actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead claimed on Twitter that the leaked photos of her included in the hack were taken "years ago."

It should also be noted that despite the hacker claiming to have accessed the trove of photos thanks to an iCloud exploit, the range of devices showcased suggests that another service may have been to blame. Various naked celebrities are photographed taking selfies with Android devices and webcams. Leaked videos could not have originated from the iCloud photo backup service. The range of devices and media may mean that another backup service like Dropbox or Google Drive could be the originator of the leaked photos, with both services offering automatic backup tools for photos and videos imported from cellphones.

Do you still remember the sex video allegedly involving comedian Wally Bayola and sexy dancer EB Babe Yoshika Mikko Rivera aka Yosh? The video was making the round on the web and was even posted on popular networking site, Facebook.

The 6:14-minute trending video clip actually shows a couple, who look like Wally and EB Babe Yosh, engaged in a steamy sex. Both Wally and Yosh have remained quiet about the tape, and there is no verification that it does indeed show them, but those who have seen the tape say the man looks unmistakably like Bayola. He even makes the comedian’s trademark “pa-pogi” sign near the end of the video.

After a hiatus of more than five months, Wally resurfaced on the longest running noontime variety program on television, "Eat Bulaga." He showed up at the show's remote location for the "Juan for All, All for Juan" segment in Paco, Manila last 8 February 2014 and joined birthday celebrator Jose Manalo and Paolo Ballesteros.

"Sorry po, sana bigyan niyo po ako ng isa pang pagkakataon para maayos ko po ang buhay ko," Bayola said during his emotional comeback.

Manalo then replied: "Importanteng marunong kang tumanggap ng pagkakamali."

Although he's finally back on television, Wally did not immediately take the helm of the said segment, which the three of them popularized. He just played as backup to the Jose-Paolo tandem.

Despite the somewhat "awkward" performance in Saturday's show, Bayola's emotional comeback on television immediately spread like wildfire and became a worldwide trending topic on the Twitter.

The next questions are, did Wally timed his comeback during the period when the industry is still caught up with the drama between Vhong Navarro, Cedric Lee and Deniece Cornejo? What happened to Yosh after the video went viral? Is it true that after their previous dalliance was uncovered by Wally’s wife three years ago, Wally promised not to do it again until the sex video proved that he might have lied? Is Yosh responsible for the video hitting in the first place?

To those who expect a complete collection of Scandals on the Net. such as, Pinay Celebrity Scandals, Motel Scandals, to Places Scandals, sorry to dissapoint you but this is not it.

This article is in response to Marhgil Macuha’s SEO Pinay Scandal Experiment. The experiment is really simple. It requires building links, but some would most probably refer to it as spamming. Marghil will place a link to this post all over his blogs and signature links on forums with the keyword 'pinay scandal' as an anchor text. The objective is to try to penetrate the first page of Google for that keyword.

According to Google Trends, a blog can gain much traffic by using or adopting the keyword 'pinay scandal'.

At first I doubt the authenticity of this claim, but after checking the trend, I was immediately convinced to take advantage of the huge traffic coming from the 'pinay scandal' surfers. Just take a look at the screenshot below of the graph of the traffic searching for 'pinay scandal':

The traffic according to the graph started on the mid of 2005 and it continuously increases. This means that tons of web surfers are now looking for 'pinay scandals' on the web.

As of this writing, I used google to search the web for the keyword and the results showed that both Macuha’s and Techathand’s articles are on the first page. The SEO experiment seems to be doing well. I have yet to try using other search engines like Yahoo, MSN to check the standing and ranking of the word 'pinay scandal', but my guess is that the results will most probably be the same.

This is really frustrating and disgusting, having two sisters, a mother and a wife, who are all Filipinas, but I am determined to use this keyword as a means also to achieve the second objective of this article, which is to help promote women's rights by increasing the awareness on trafficking of women and girls all over the world. This also a way of joining the call on governments to use the Vienna Forum to Fight Human Trafficking (13-15 February 2008) organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) as a venue to generate significant political will and commit resources to ending the scourge of human trafficking.

Hence, this blog would like to invite everyone who owns a blog, to join this experiment. What you need to do is to write an article about Pinay Scandal and then inform Marhgil about it. Read this post (Pinay Scandal) for more details.
