When will the iPad pro be released?

This has been the question many Apple followers are asking after it was reported that the next tablet from the multi-billion tech company will be bigger than the current iPadm which is why it was also dubbed as the iPad Plus.

All indications point to the possibility that the upcoming new series of tablet from Apple is expected to be release in the second quarter of 2015 or in April. Also, if the reports are true, the iPad Pro will be released alongside the smaller sibling iPad Mini 4.

According to News Every Day, the Apple iPad Pro will feature the same design as the iPad Air 2. This means, the tablet will be ultra thin and light.

To be specific, the device will be 7 mm in thickness and will reportedly weigh 700 g. When it comes to key Apple iPad Pro specifications, the device is expected to boast one of the 12.0-inch, 12.2-inch or 12.9-inch displays, bundled with a 2K screen resolution to offer better viewing experience.

It is worth noting that, the tech giant has recently unveiled the first 5K desktop computer, the iMac Retina. On that note, it is very apparent that the company is investing time and effort in perfecting impressive display technology, notes Value Walk.

Furthermore, Apple is focusing on the productivity more than entertainment factor with the big-screen iPad. On that note, rumours state that, the Apple iPad Pro could be marketed as the hybrid tablet/laptop with a detachable keyboard in tow. This means, Microsoft’s Surface Pro series of tablets will reportedly be the competitor to the upcoming tablet, says the same site.

Meanwhile, under the hood, the tablet will reportedly run on Apple’s A9 chipset. Value Walk also says that, because of the popularity of the S-Pen stylus that comes with the high-end Samsung Galaxy phablets and tablets, Apple is planning to offer a similar stylus with the upcoming iPad Pro/iPad Plus. However, unlike the Galaxy Note 4, this stylus could reportedly be an optional unit and could also come with only the high-end version of the iPad Pro.

Speaking of Apple iPad Pro price, as a market leader, Apple is currently in a position to quote the price the company wants to, however, the tablet market has apparently slowed down and therefore, overpricing is out of the question, says value Walk. Hence, the upcoming tablet is expected to be priced in the same range as the current-generation iPad models. Nonetheless, Apple has not confirmed the iPad Pro specifications or the release date thus far.
