Together with the Society of Fellows in Supply Chain Management as well as the Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP) have joined hands to offer more opportunities for growth as the Diploma Program in Supply Chain Management Course officially begins its classes at the TIP Center for Continuing Education (CCE).
Supply Chain management encompasses many different industries. It is requires a broad range of capabilities because whatever the business is, there is always the need to get products and services in the market. However, while it is part and parcel of any business, there is no formal training to produce professionals. The troika partnership is the first step into making supply chain a course.
The TIP-CCE offers programs and courses to those in supply chain management who would like to further their education and accelerate their growth in their chosen careers.
The Diploma Program offered at TIP-CCE comprises six courses focusing on the four pillars of supply chain management and key business management subjects essential to the development of supply chain management professionals.
The first module is on Supply Chain Management, followed by modules on Product Supply, Managing the Procurement Function, Logistics and Customer Service, Distribution Management and the SCM Linkage to Operations and Project Management.
2GO's passion to deliver outstanding supply chain management professionals is reflected in its effort to create opportunities for students and to reward them accordingly for their achievements. It aims to propagate knowledge about supply chain management and to continue to educate people on ways to help reduce supply chain costs in the country.
Early in 2008, 2GO also forged ties with the Foundation of the Society of Fellows in Supply Management, Inc. (SOFSM) and the Jose Rizal University by championing the launch of a collegiate course, Bachelor of Commercial Science Major in Supply Management.
Sabin Aboitiz, President and CEO of 2GO expresses that the course is just one way for the company to express its commitment and passion for delivery. "If we are to help our country lower its supply chain cost, we need to start educating our youth. As the world gets smaller with globalization and as the economy improves, it is increasingly important to arm our youth with the proper education to become competitive. 2GO will share knowledge and experience to develop these core competencies and we want to work together for a better future."
Aside from becoming the industry partner for the course, 2GO together with the Aboitiz Group Foundation Inc (AGFI) will be offering scholarship programs for 10 students for BS in commercial science major in Supply Management for the next four years,while SOFSM will be supporting 5 scholars. The four year education of each scholar will also be supported and closely monitored.
