Even if you have a good business plan, a sound marketing strategy, a strategic location and even the drive to succeed, starting a business still boils down to the availability of initial capital.
A youthful and aspiring entrepreneur will find it even harder since many business enterprises and financial institutions prefers to lend their money to those with experience rather than an unproven track record.
So, where to turn to?
Fortunately for many Filipino young entrepreneurs, the Philippine Youth Business Foundation (PYBF) is opening its doors to them.
PYBF is a non-profit, non-stock organization under the Prince of Wales' Youth Business nternational (YBI) network. It is aimed towards bridging the unemployment gap through enterprise development.
PYBF works with young people between the ages of 18-30 with the objective of turning these young people into self-sustaining entrepreneurs
Young people with viable business plans are screened by a cross-functional panel composed of volunteer businesspeople from partner companies
An approved applicant will be given a loan between PhP 15,000 to PhP 100,000 to start off their business, after which a mentor businessperson is assigned to them to assist them in managing their business.
PYBF has a panel that assesses not only how much a potential beneficiary needs, but also helps figure out which business plan is themost feasible. It also provides young entrepreneurs access to other business networks.
Fo further inquiries about the programs and opportunities offered by PYBF, you may contact the following:
