Whether you are a PayPal user or not, in some point of your money making blogger life there must have been a time when the company, service or product ad that you are promoting is asking you for your bank code to help facilitate payment of services rendered. You might have thought that this is just the same as account number. Well, it is not.

If you look for the definition of bank code or bank number in the net, they will give you something like this:

"A Bank Code is a code assigned by a central bank, a Bank Supervisory Body or a Bankers Association in a country to all its licensed member banks. The rules vary to a great extent between countries as well as the name of such codes. In some countries the bank codes can be freely viewed over the internet, while in many it is usually retricted."

To put it simply, a Philippine bank code is a 9-digit number unique to a bank that Paypal or any other payment scheme requires before a bank account can be attributed to the client. It is a number that distinguished the clients accounts in different Philippine banks.

This is a good additional security feature to help ensure that both clients and sellers are protected. However, the adjustment or dissemination process were not very well coordinated between the program host and the concerned banks. For instance, Paypal took almost a week to announce what bank codes really are and where to get these numbers.

Worse, some banks does not have any clue what a bank code is. Some banks tried to dismiss persistent clients by giving them different codes everytime they ask for it, while others insist that bank codes are not really required.

To avoid any complications or discomfort on the part of the banks and money-making bloggers, here are the bank codes provided by PayPal:
