Eraserheads in Dubai
You can't really put a good band down. This is what the Eraserheads or E-Heads showed their fans when they performed early this month to a fully-packed Dubai City Amphitheatre.

A news article from Yahoo! reported that about 11,000 screaming fans attended the band’s second reunion world tour in as many years. E-Heads broke up in 2002, but the performance that they dished out for 2.5-hours consisting of 27 songs did not show any signs of awkwardness.

It was even reported that the E-Heads performance was the most attended during the two-week festival, which featured a diverse lineup of music stars including Guns N’ Roses, Train, Natalie Cole, Andrea Bocelli and other local acts.

In his review of the show, Linus Cruz of Rolling Stone ME said, "Pop-heavy ballads, riff-chugging instrumentals and deafening call-and-responses flowed seamlessly together. Though, in all honesty, Eraserheads could have turned up with a toy keyboard and a triangle and the audience would have gone nuts."

Despite their two successful international shows to date, the first one was a four-city North American reunion tour last 2012, the band composed of Ely Buendia, Raimund Marasigan, Buddy Zabala and Marcus Adoro have not been booked for other dates this year nor are they keen on accepting another one.

The report said the band wants to "wing it" or go by "feel" when accepting offers.

In the meantime, Ely Buendia continues to be a part of Pupil. He also collaborates with other artists, notably with Hilera and Nitoy Adriano to form The Oktaves.

One of the features in the concert was the introduction of "fifth Eraserhead" Rommel Sanchez on lead guitar. Rommel joined the E-Heads, too, on their previous tour.

E-Heads has released a total of seven albums: Ultraelectromagneticpop! (1993); Circus (1994); Cutterpillow (1995); Fruitcake (1996); Sticker Happy (1997); Natin99 (1999) and Carbon Stereoxide (2001). Some of their notable songs that became instant hits are "Pare Ko", "Toyang", "Tindahan ni Aling Nena", “Ligaya”, "Kailan", "Magasin", "Alapaap", "Ang Huling El Bimbo", “Fruitcake” and "With a Smile".

For EraserHeads fans like me who grew up with their music in the 1990’s, they were truly years ahead of their generation. They are a perfect combination of creative talents that will never fade in time.
