I just read a news article from ANI that reported a story of near death escape from the jaws of death in Kariba, Zimbabwe. It was about a man who escaped an attacked by a lion while he was having sex in a nearby bush with his girlfriend. He ran as fast as he could wearing only a condom that he forgot about what happened to the woman.
Unfortunately, the girlfriend, identified as Sharai Mawera, was not as fast and not as lucky.
"Unfortunately the woman, who was also known as Mai Desire, was mauled to death by the lion but her boyfriend managed to escape naked and he was only wearing a condom. The two were having their quality time near Mahombekombe Primary School," My Zimbabwe said.
After realizing the presence of the deadly wild animal in the midst of their alleged love nest, the survivor who was nude is said to have escaped for dear life while leaving his female counterpart behind. This was substantiated by an unidentified source who claimed to know the two very well said that the man was naked since it was very hot.
The man is said to have been ignored by motorists and some members of the public who initially thought he was mentally challenged since he was naked. Later on people heard his plea and accompanied him to police where he reported the matter.
Members of an apostolic sect who worship near the area where the tragedy occurred reportedly took to their heels amid claims that they saw 7 lions in the area.
An arm and the remains of a second corpse, believed to be an as-yet-unidentified man, were found by rangers hunting for the lions.
The National Parks and Wildlife Authority said fliers are being handed out in the town and warned people against walking at night and using footpaths through the bush as shortcuts.
Volunteers are using a loudspeaker to caution townspeople on the dangers of lion attacks on the shores of Lake Kariba, a man-made hydroelectric dam popular for fishing and tourism.
